JEFFERSON - A number of illegal gambling spots are uncovered resulting in numerous arrests throughout the state. Two stores and a household in Athens-Clarke were raided. Police say five stores in Jefferson that served as illegal casinos are now closed.

The IRS, FBI, GBI and the State Department of Revenue took part in the searches.

In addition to Athens and Jefferson, arrests were also made in Commerce, Dacula and Flowery Branch.
