ATHENS - Funeral services are Leila Denmark are scheduled for Thursday at Athens' First United Methodist Church. The 114-year-old doctor died on Sunday.

Denmark practiced medicine for more than 70 years, and her book "Every Child Should Have a Chance" is in its 14th printing.

In 1953, Denmark was honored with the title of "Atlanta's Woman of the Year."

A burial service will be held Friday morning at Portal Cemetery.
