Bike Rider Injured

ATHENS - An Athens man was injured Tuesday afternoon when a car turned into his path, causing his bicycle to hit the rear of the vehicle.
Police say 19-year-old Matthew Peterman was riding north bound on Lumpkin Street in the outside lane. 18-year-old Jordan Claire Spivey was driving a 2003 Nissan X-Terra southbound and attempted a left turn onto Carlton Street.
Spivey turned in Peterman's path and he struck the car. Peterman was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center.
No charges have been issued. The investigation continues.
